The pride and joy of the Sarayaku people is their high-speed Internet connection – the very first in the whole region. Originally installed to support the students at the local university, the environmental activists now also make use of it to contact like-minded people throughout the world and to coordinate their countless activities such as, for instance, legal actions, campaigns and lecture tours. Their own website in Spanish and English is helping them to draw attention to their situation internationally.
