The festival is organized collectively by all villagers, which also select four hosts. They agree to build the ceremonial huts and to feed all the guests. Each of the four hosts has about 15 to 40 assistants for the preparation of the party. Their number varies depending on the families’ status and their economic situation, since they have to feed the helpers during the whole time of their volunteer assistance. As a symbol for their commendable status as assistants, the men wear hats made from stuffed toucans.
